Author
A self acclaimed “Apprentice Bard”, Michael grew up and spent most of his life in Maine/New Hampshire, Growing up around the same scenery that inspired generations of artists and writers alike, it’s no surprise that he followed a similar path.
After writing his first book at 17, “The Camelot Crusades Part I”, life’s stresses got in the way and his quill ran dry. However, that creative stroke found his hand again and PART II of “The Camelot Crusades” is OUT NOW, JANUARY 31ST, 2026.
“PART III is expected to be released by late spring.
Sneak-peeks at other books/series Michael is working on will be updated here. As of now, his focus is on “The Camelot Crusades”, however an author’s mind is known to stray from time to time…
Why do I write?
Am I writing to get rich? No. Will I be mad if I become financially stable in the process? Also no. The main reason I write used to be to escape. Especially when I was younger. Now? It’s more nuanced. The only way I can continue escaping through prose is if I can poetically allude metaphors about myself, my surroundings or society.
I would be lying if I didn’t admit this. As would any author. I want my books to sell across the globe. I want to be a best-seller. I want to outsell Stephen King. Those are big shoes to fill, and those shoes didn’t stomp far from where my little feet stomped up here in Maine. However, it’s not attention for myself. Its attention for these characters I’ve created. My characters will always have to walk the lines of Morality VS Mortality.
I may lose some readers along the way. For those of you that stay? I promise my books will hold as much hidden truth and meaning as they, and you deserve.
Best Regards,
Michael Barela.
